Rooted in these values, we strive to create an intergenerational space where the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood can gather, grow, and thrive.
Our Mission
The Jefferson Chalmers Farmers Market (JCFM) is dedicated to community building, economic development, and food security while promoting healthy lifestyles, art, and culture. As a 2024 Kresge KIP D+ grantee, Michigan Municipal League grantee, NextCycle Sustainability grantee, and National Black Food and Justice Alliance MARC (Mutual Aid Resource & Capacity) grantee, we are committed to creating a sustainable, inclusive future for all.
Our Goal
To build capacity and better serve our community by establishing a neighborhood food and nutrition resource hub at the future site of the JCFM. Together, we are cultivating a space where fresh food, local flavor, and Detroit pride intersect to nourish both body and soul.
